It is not built for the opposite case. Portraits, outdoor scenes, or anything shot against a busy, multi-coloured background need a different technique — one that recognises the outline of a person or object rather than a flat colour. That's a separate feature (AI background removal), which isn't available here yet.

If the background isn't white or black but some brand colour or an ambiguous grey, use the eyedropper — click it, then click the background in the original image. The exact colour at that point becomes the target, and the result recalculates immediately.
Removal strength controls how close a colour has to be to the target to get erased. A lower value keeps anything that isn't nearly identical (useful when a shadow falls across the background); a higher value sweeps up a wider range of similar tones. A clean, even background usually needs only a low setting; an uneven scan benefits from turning it up a little. The edge is always faded smoothly either way, so stamp or text edges never come out jagged.
Correct. Everything from opening the image to downloading the result happens in your browser. Open your browser's developer tools, watch the Network tab, and open an image — nothing carrying your file goes out.
Yes. White is just the default — click the black swatch, pick a colour with the colour selector, or use the eyedropper to grab the exact colour straight from your image. Any solid colour can be removed.
Yes, though JPG compression can leave faint artefacts around the edge of the background. A PNG original gives a cleaner result when you have one.
Since nothing is uploaded, there's no server-side size limit. Very large images just take a little longer to process in the browser.
Not yet — this version only handles solid-colour backgrounds. Removing complex, multi-coloured backgrounds around people is a separate feature we're working on.
